How to stop receiving Junk unsolicited SMS from MTN

If you have being bugged with unsolicited spam SMS from MTN and their SMS marketing partners youARE NOT ALONE. It got to a stage where on a single i was getting over 30 unsolicited SMSs from my network provider - MTN and their partners but this short code provided a solution. From your MTN line just text STOP to 33111 and you will stop receiving those unsolicited SMSs at least for a few day and then it start coming again. So what i do is that every few (3) days i will repeat process again.

Again, just send STOP  as a text message to 33111 and get some temporary repreive.

This will also automatically cancel all your text based services you are subscribed to - like all those tip that costs you N30 to N100 perweek.

Speed up your slowing Android Smart Phone/Device

  All smart phones and devices eventually slow down as a result of usage or system deficiencies. The Android OS is not immune from this problem. In fact, Android seems to have more than its fair share of slowing processes. 

 

This is probably because of the enormous pressure users put the android through by downloading so many App (a good number of them unnecessary or in some cases downright useless). 
Even when the Apps downloaded are very useful, there is a limit to what the system can handle before additional Apps will start taking its toll on the system.

 

Another reason why your smart is running slow is likely due to a large amount of cached files stored in the device. When you visit a website, the browser will likely store some of the material you viewed in device so that in the event that you revisit the site again, it will not have to the entire contents into your device all over again. 

This files stored in your smart phone will eventually grow so large that it will reduce the speed with which your device process new commands. Below, show you how to deal with these issues. It is recommended that you deal with both cached/stored files and too many App in order to solve the problem. This is because both will likely be significant contributors to the problem.

Deal with the Apps

There are probably many Apps in your device that you do not use or not very often use. Some of these Apps will be contributing to slowing down your device. You need to identify such apps and remove or uninstall them. Here is how:

>> Go to Settings

>> Select Apps

>> identify the Apps you don’t use

>> Tap on the Identifies App

>> Choose to either Uninstall or disable the app

>> follow same procedure to identify and remove as many of such Apps as possible   

 

Clear Cached Files

cached files can take up a lot of storage space if it is allowed to grow unchecked, so clearing cached files will definitely help to free up disk space and make your file system perform faster. To clear cached data for all installed apps at eh same time:

>> go to Settings

>> Choose Apps

>> Tap on Storage

>> Scroll down and  

>> Tap Cached data, and select OK.

Increase Storage Size

It may be necessary to increase the storage space on your device. For example, if you are currently using an 8gigabyte memory card, it is advisable to increase it to 16 or 32gig card if necessary. When you mount the card, move some of your installed Apps to the card that way, you free up more internal storage for for processing commands.
